F1 refugee Tiago Monteiro has signed to race for the Spanish manufacturer SEAT in the FIA’s world touring car championship this year.
The former Spyker driver, who joined the Silverstone based team when it was known as Jordan in 2005, was replaced for 2007 by German rookie Adrian Sutil.
Presumably due to the late signing, Portuguese Monteiro, 30, will not debut in his new series until May. This weekend’s season opener is being held in Brazil.
He recently tested the SEAT Leon car at Valencia.
