Nakajima makes test debut for Williams

Williams’ new engine supplier, Toyota, has published photos of Kazuki Nakajima making his formula one test debut at the weekend.

On a damp Fuji circuit in Japan, Williams’ newly signed 21-year-old test driver – with a red ‘Toyota’ logo sewn onto his blue and white overalls – completed several laps of the circuit in a regularly-livered ‘FW28’ single seater.

Grove based Williams was powered by Cosworth engines in 2006.

Meanwhile, a statement issued late Monday by Super Aguri revealed that the small Japanese team is nonetheless planning a comprehensive programme of testing for the pre-Christmas period.

The Leafield based squad said it had, notably unlike Spyker, built an interim car that will test on all nine days of scheduled November-December running at Barcelona and Jerez.

Anthony Davidson will drive the Honda-powered car at Circuit de Catalunya this week.
