Nakajima to drive Williams on Friday

Japan’s Kazuki Nakajima is a last minute addition to Williams’ Australian grand prix lineup.

The Toyota-powered team confirmed on Wednesday that he will drive one of the two FW29 cars in Friday practice, meaning that he will miss the GP2 test for his team DAMS back in Europe.

It is not clear which of Williams’ race drivers, Alex Wurz or Nico Rosberg, will give up his car for the Japanese rookie. The same is true for BMW’s Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica, as Sebastian Vettel prepares to drive on Friday.

In doubt altogether for the opening day of official 2007 action, meanwhile, is Spyker’s Giedo van der Garde, whose contractual wrangling with Super Aguri has held up the rubber-stamp on his Super License.
