New Honda livery to surprise

Honda will “surprise” the racing world with the livery for its 2007 formula one car, according to Nick Fry.

The Japanese squad’s team principal suggested to F1’s official website that the unique marketing plan will help fill the void left by departing cigarette sponsor Lucky Strike.

Honda will start the new season without a title sponsor.

“You will not see a car covered in Honda logos, it will be something very different,” he said.

The new livery is unlikely to be revealed until shortly before the Australian grand prix in March, Fry added.

“You could say that we will have two launches — one of the car and one of our new marketing concept,” he revealed.

Honda’s interim car is presently testing in a striking black livery.
