New Toro Rosso facing mid-Feb delay

Toro Rosso’s car for 2007 will not be up and running until mid to late February, it has emerged.

Despite speculation that the Ferrari-powered machine is similar to the new Red Bull that has now been revealed, it is understood that the ‘STR2’ is facing production delays that have pushed back the launch date for at least two or so more weeks.

It was speculated recently that installation of the Ferrari engine might be proving difficult for Toro Rosso, as the dimensions and mounting points of the Renault unit – used as the basis for Adrian Newey’s ‘RB3’ design – are significantly different.

The Faenza based squad is also lagging on the confirmation of its driver lineup for this year, but an announcement is expected later this week.
