Michael Schumacher, whose current Ferrari contract expires at the end of the year, is not yet ready to announce his plans for the future.

The German’s long-time manager, Willi Weber, told ‘Deutsche Presse-Agentur’ that speculation of an announcement at Barcelona this weekend is false.gmmf1dailyf1news.com

”For sure, there will be nothing in Barcelona,” said Weber, ”because Michael has not decided yet.

”Maybe there will be something in July.”

Indeed, paddock gossip concurs that Schumacher’s next home race, the German grand prix at Hockenheim (July 28-30), is a more likely venue for the news.

While the 37-year-old is tipped for a new two year stay in red overalls, track rival Juan Pablo Montoya says Schumacher would be ‘crazy’ to keep racing if he bags an eighth title.

Apparently agreeing, F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone told the ‘Mirror’ in England: ”A champion should quit at the peak of his career.”
