FIA confirmed, that during the US Grand Prix in Austin, there will be only one DRS zone.
It will be first Formula 1 race on Circuit of the Americas and localization of DRS zone was some kind of mystery. On this new venue there are two long straights – on the start of the lap and in it`s middle, just after turn 11.
New circuit in Austin has 20 corners making up a total distance of 5516 meters. Drivers will activate Drag Reduction System on the longer straight. It`s still not known where will be located speed trap which will measure distance between drivers but probably detection will be just before turn 11.
Straight between turn 11 and 12 has 650 meters but it will be decided tomorrow how long will be the DRS zone.
