PRODRIVE WIN !

Prodrives V8 Supercar team has taken the win in the first of 3 races this weekend at Winton raceway this afternoon. Jason Bright in the #6 Caterpillar FORD Falcon dominated the race ahead of former Juan Pablo MONTOYA team mate Craig Lowndes also in a FORD ahead of Paul Dumbrell in the Jack Daniels Tennessee Whisky Holden Commodore.
The win marks a revival for the Factory FORD team that has underperformed for the past 2 years and has rarely been able to match the pace at the front of the grid. Soon to be F1 team owner David Richards (Prodrive) will no doubt be relieved as success was needed to show that the team can be a force and justify Ford’s faith in making them the Factory team over more established and successful Ford teams.

Ex-Jaguar F1 tester James Courtney had another dismal run in the Jeld-Wen FORD managing to only move up to 15th place from his lowly19th starting position Although he did manage to better ex-F1 counterpart Max Wilson (17th).

Winner Jason Bright will now have to come through the pack from the back of the grid for race 2 due that race being a full reverse grid , a format that many teams are not in favour of, due to the chances of being tangled up with the slower cars and the expensive repair bills that go with it ,along with any Championship hopes.
