McLaren’s former chief aerodynamicist Peter Prodromou started work at Red Bull last week, team principal Christian Horner has revealed.

He told the news agency Reuters that Prodromou is part of a new ‘group’ of talented technicians at the Milton Keynes based team.

“Next year should be the first serious step to realising our goals and potential,” Horner added.

Leading the roll-call of Red Bull intellect is renowned car designer Adrian Newey, while Mark Smith, Rob Marshall and Jonathan Wheatley all hail from Renault.

The ‘RB3’ will be powered by a Renault engine, and is set to feature Mark Webber at the wheel alongside incumbent and veteran David Coulthard.

Prodromou, responsible for the bodywork of the MP4-21 car, signed for Red Bull Racing in January but only joined the team at the recent expiry of his McLaren contract.
