After making his Ferrari test debut on Tuesday at the wheel of a year-old car, Kimi Raikkonen revealed that he will drive the newly launched ‘F2007’ next week.
Asked at the chilly Vallelunga circuit near Rome what he expected to find at the wheel of the new car, the Finn answered: “I have only seen it.
“Next week I will drive it and then we will know some more.”
The head of Ferrari’s motor sport press office, Luca Colajanni, confirmed that 27-year-old Raikkonen will indeed not make his F2007 debut until after a full three days this week in the ‘248 F1’, which won nine grands prix in 2006.
Wearing a new Schuberth-made helmet on a damp track on Tuesday, Raikkonen turned 39 laps and lagged Felipe Massa’s best time in the new car by less than a second.
