Ralf steers clear of Trulli ‘rift’

Ralf Schumacher has steered clear of reports that he and Toyota’s senior management were annoyed at Jarno Trulli after the Japanese grand prix.

Speculation suggests that team bosses scolded Ralf’s Italian teammate at Suzuka because Trulli ignored radio calls to let the quicker Toyota car pass.

A single extra point in Japan would have drawn the Cologne based squad level with BMW-Sauber in the constructors’ title.

Schumacher, 31, rejected talk of a team ‘rift’, but he did say in Brazil: “For the team it would have been better if I had overtaken him. I think I could have finished fourth, but it is impossible to know that.”

Instead, Trulli was sixth, and Ralf seventh.
