Red Bull’s Christian Horner and Mark Webber agree that the Austrian owned squad is as much as four weeks behind its rivals.
“Yep,” Australian Webber gloomily confirmed in the FIA press conference on Friday when asked about Horner’s apparent admission at the season opener.
“Four weeks gone, they’re under the bridge. When it’s gone in this game, it’s gone,” he said.
Webber, 30, sat out the meat of the final practice session on Friday after a gearbox glitch, but his teammate David Coulthard was tenth.
Webber said the Adrian Newey-penned RB3 is going to struggle for at least a few races in the early portion of ’07.
He explained: “You don’t just roll out a car and it’s quick, you’ve got to work with them.”
