F1’s reigning champion squad Renault is planning to launch its 2007-spec ‘R27’ in the Netherlands, according to reports in the country on Tuesday.

The French team has typically unveiled its new car in Monte Carlo in recent years, but it is understood that the new location is in deference to Renault’s incoming 2007 title sponsor, the Dutch bank ING.

Dutch sources hinted at an event ‘sometime in January’, with the new contender believed to strongly incorporate the colours orange and white, but also the carmaker’s traditional yellow.

Meanwhile, it is rumoured that Grove based Williams will launch the Toyota-powered ‘FW29’ contender at its Oxfordshire HQ early in February.
