Rivals vow ‘no help’ for Schumacher’ title

Ralf Schumacher says he would not sacrifice winning the Brazilian grand prix on Sunday even if it means his brother Michael can retire with an eighth crown.

“My loyalty is to Toyota,” Germany’s daily Bild-Zeitung quoted the 31-year-old as saying.

“I don’t think they would accept an overdose of brotherly love.”

The lead-up to the 2006 season finale has been littered with speculation of possible ‘dirty tricks’ to assist Schumacher’s triumph over Fernando Alonso.

But the Ferrari veteran’s German countrymen all vowed to stay out of the battle on the Sao Paulo circuit.

“I would be happy if Michael wins the title,” Williams rookie Nico Rosberg said, “but I am not going to let anyone just overtake me.”

BMW-Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld, meanwhile, says he wouldn’t give up a first victory for ‘ten million dollars’.
