Rookie sets stunning pace

Sebastian Vettel, at the helm of BMW’s third car in Istanbul, sprung a suprise by setting the overall fastest lap in today’s free practice at 1:28.091. It was his first outing in an F1 car during a race weekend.

Felipe Massa was the fastest race driver on the day while Kimi Raikkonen and Michael Schumacher, the two pacesetters in the first session, failed to improve on their earlier lap times.
