Schu says Raikkonen win unlikely

Amid paddock whispers that McLaren’s Kimi Raikkonen could be in with a shout of victory at Suzuka this weekend, Michael Schumacher said on Friday that he thought the race would instead be fought between title rivals Ferrari and Renault.

Asked by reporters about the silver team, whose Raikkonen won the Japanese grand prix a year ago, Ferrari’s Schumacher said: ”There are always possibilities, but I see the other two teams as further in front.”

Finn Raikkonen, 26, was tenth fastest in the drying second practice session on Friday, and slower even than teammate Pedro de la Rosa, as he admitted to reporters that Suzuka is not his favourite track.

”I assume that Renault and ourselves will fight for the top places in qualifying,” Schumacher added.
