Michael Schumacher’s new Ferrari role will involve talent-scouting in the go-kart ranks, Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has admitted.
The Italian also told sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Michael will have an office that he will visit as often as he wants.
“He will also go to some races and help us with our decision-making.”
To the German newspaper Bild-Zeitung, however, Schumacher’s manager suggested that the seven time world champion has not yet defined how he wants to spend his first years out of the cockpit.
But ‘Bild’ insisted that Schumacher’s talent-scouting could even extend to heading a ‘young driver’ programme for his Maranello based employer.
Willi Weber said: “There are different options, such as being an ambassador for Ferrari. It is also true that he will be available to the formula one team with his advice.”
