Malaysian grand prix venue Sepang has been ordered to make minor repairs prior to next weekend’s formula one race.
Ahead of the start of pre-race testing on Tuesday, FIA safety delegate Charlie Whiting conducted his regular pre-event inspection and asked for improvements to guard rails and tyre barriers.
“I have asked them do some minor works for the race,” Whiting confirmed to the local newspaper New Strait Times.
Since last March’s Malaysian grand prix, the eighth since 1999, Sepang has also resurfaced 400 metres of track between turns 3 and 4.
Every team except Spyker is already set up at the circuit for three days of testing, the first ever at Sepang, to kick off on Tuesday.
It is one of just eight allowed in-season tests in 2007. Part of the voluntary agreement to limit testing expenditure is that teams can use only one car per day.
