Super Aguri hangs in mid-air

Entry of Super Aguri in F1 still hangs in the balance as the entries for new teams closed on Tuesday. However FIA has confirmed that it has received the application from the Japanese team, and nothing can be said for sure till FIA releases the official entry list next month.

Four teams on the grid – BAR, Sauber, Jordan and Minardi – have also applied to change their names for next season. Sauber will be known as BMW Sauber F1, Jordan will be renamed Midland F1 and Minardi will become Squadra Toro Rosso. BAR, who will be owned by Honda, have yet to reveal what they will be called. The Japanese manufacturer is also set to supply engines and technical support to the proposed Super Aguri team. The new team, if approved, will be led by former F1 driver Aguri Suzuki.
