Jun.25 (GMM) Christian Klien will be back on track for the new Spanish team HRT at Valencia.
The Austrian test driver also drove on the Friday morning in Barcelona, before his Japanese colleague Sakon Yamamoto took at turn at the wheel in Turkey.
“In Montreal I was unavailable due to my obligations in Le Mans,” said Klien, 27. “Now (boss) Colin Kolles has decided to put me in the car again.”
Like teammates Bruno Senna and Karun Chandhok, Klien has never raced on the Valencia street circuit, but he will not have to adjust to any car developments since he drove the HRT in May.
“It is the exact same chassis I drove in Barcelona. Unfortunately, there are no major upgrades yet,” he confirmed.
Klien confirmed that his goal is to return to a full race seat as soon as possible.
“It is difficult when you are five or six seconds off the pace, but we are moving forward. And I am quite thankful to the team to give me this opportunity to prove my worth,” he added.
