Toro Rosso targets TOP-6

Toro Rosso team boss, Franz Tost said that it will be difficult season for all teams and his squad is counting on 6th place in constructors` championship.

2012 season wasn`t good for Scuderia Toro Rosso. Faenza based team was 9th in constructors championships with only 26 points – 50 less than Williams and 15 less than in 2011. For this season STR has much more ambitious plans and want to be in TOP-6.

“We want to do better in the constructors’ championship. The goal that I identified for us is P6.” – said Toro Rosso team boss, Franz Tost for official F1.com website. He is sure that his squad made good decisions after last year failure and will be stronger this year.

“We have done a very detailed analysis of where it went wrong last year – in what areas our car had deficits – and hopefully have learned from that 2012 experience. I am pretty sure that we have a much better car now and will be able to give our two guys a much better chance to compete.” – added Tost

According to Austrian words, it wont be easy season for the teams because of preparations for 2014 season with different engines and regulations:

“This year is that you are looking at a double burden: first to keep up the development of the 2013 car and then to find the perfect time to start the 2014 programme. We have started already and what can I say? It will be difficult and complicated – a real challenge as well, from the technical side as well as from the economic side. The 2014 car will be technically immensely complicated – the turbo charger, the cooling systems, the new gearbox, the new monocoque – and the race strategy we are used to will be thrown completely overboard. My prediction: it will be a very expensive year!” – said Austrian.
