Toyota is planning a “major update” for its TF107 contender that will be ready for the Spanish grand prix next month.
“We have a major update planned for race four,” said senior general manager chassis Pascal Vasselon, “and then, as is normal now, we will have small upgrades at each race.”
The Frenchman judged the Cologne based team’s performance at the Melbourne season opener, where Ralf Schumacher scored a single point, as “just acceptable”.
Jarno Trulli trailed Ralf home for ninth.
“We are definitely too far away compared to where we want to be and we have some work to do,” the Japanese squad’s team principal Tsutomu Tomita added.
