FIA decided that during Malaysian Grand Prix on Sepang Circuit there will be two DRS zones and detection points.
FIA announced many times before 2013 season, that in most of Formula 1 races there will be two DRS zones. Two DRS zones and detection points are new for Sepang. In past years in Malaysia there was only one DRS zone on the start/finish straight.
Now there will be second DRS zone – on the straight which leads to the last corner. Its detection point will be placed in the middle of the high-speed turns 12 and 13. Over 100 meters after corner 13 drivers will be able to activate DRS.
Detection point of “old” DRS zone will be on last corner.
