Adrian Valles is hoping his $390,000 test-seat at Spyker pays off with a grand prix debut in 2008.
The Spanish youngster is among the team’s raft of official testers for 2007, but the newspaper ‘Diario As’ revealed that the Spyker job does come with a hefty price-tag.
20-year-old Valles, however, insists that his “clear objective” is to join the GP action next year. He is tipped to start work as a test driver at Valencia later this month.
Curiously, Valles is personally backed by the Ricardo Tormo circuit.
“I am especially motivated because my first test is at my home circuit. I am ready for the challenge,” the 2006 GP2 racer – sixteenth in the standings – said.
