Van der Garde ‘sure’ of Spyker seat

The dispute involving rookie test driver Giedo van de Garde continued this week, as the Dutchman appeared in official team gear at the launch of Spyker’s new car for 2007.

The 22-year-old, who was originally announced in a similar Friday driving role for Super Aguri, refused to be drawn on the contractual clash but he insisted that he was “sure” he would be travelling to Melbourne with Silverstone based Spyker.

However, Super Aguri last Friday insisted that it has “a valid contract” with van der Garde that it has already lodged with the Contract Recognition Board (CRB).

Geido said at Silverstone: “The only thing I want is to drive fast and do the best I can and all the contracts and the other things, I am not part of this.”
