Weather should play a decisive role in Chinese GP

Tue, 7 April 2015, 02:20

More than ever, a weather forecast for Shanghai this weekend can bring optimism to Ferrari about its chances in the race.
China has an abrasive race track, although not like Malaysia. Some curves are especially hard on the front left tyres.
As everybody knows, James Allison’s car project allows Ferrari to have fewer tires wear than Mercedes, but in a cold temperature this advantage simply vanishes, so far…
What could be a headache to Mercedes is that temperatures will be around 15º C all this week but Sunday: it is expected around 21º C at the race time. That means if Vettel and Räikkönen beat the cold on qualifying (around 15º C) and get themselves a good start position, Ferrari should have another great performance with real chances of a victory.
