Australia’s only formula one driver led his own ‘Mark Webber Challenge’ on Sunday after the first of six days.

In Tasmania, the 30-year-old’s four-man team pulled out a lead of six and a half minutes over their eleven rivals as the arduous cycling, hiking and kayaking contest began.

The charity event ends in Hobart on Friday.

“It was a fantastic first leg and really diverse,” Red Bull driver Webber said.
