Weber’s advice to Schu: quit with title eight

Michael Schumacher’s manager has dropped a hint that the Ferrari driver could retire if he wraps up an eighth career title this season.

Willi Weber told the ‘Bild am Sonntag’ newspaper in Germany that 37-year-old Schumacher will likely make his final decision about the future whilst on an upcoming holiday with both their families on the Cote D’ Azur.

And he intriguingly said: ”If he continues, then only with (Jean) Todt.”

The Ferrari principal’s current agreement at the Maranello based outfit is similarly due either for renewal or expiry.

Weber, meanwhile – unabashed about handsomely sharing in Schumacher’s whopping annual salary – also gave some ‘advice’ to F1’s most successful ever star.

”It is against my financial interests,” he smiled, ”but I would advise Schumi to stop immediately if he became world champion again this year.”

So, crucially, what does ‘Schumi’ think about his manager’s advice?

Willi Weber revealed: ”He just laughed. Even he does not yet know what he is going to do.”gmmf1 dailyf1news.com
