Williams’ new car for 2007 is not far off the pace of the leading teams, according to technical director Sam Michael.
Although the Oxfordshire based camp opted to stay away from the current Bahrain test apparently for financial reasons, Australian Michael is encouraged by how the FW29 compared with its rivals in the Spanish sessions.
He is quoted as saying by Sport Bild: “We are losing only a half a second (per lap) to McLaren.”
