Grove based Williams has scheduled an “early launch” for its 2008 car.

The Toyota-powered team’s FW29 challenger was this year launched in February, mere weeks before the start of the 2007 season.

A season review distributed to the media explains that its successor, the FW30, will be released early, primarily to achieve high reliability next year.

A winter “interim car”, meanwhile, will be used by Williams at the upcoming post-season tests.

“In terms of overall performance, narrowing the margin to the front runners, having concluded the season an average of eight tenths of a second behind the leading team, will be vital to the principal goal of elevating the team up the constructors’ ladder,” an excerpt from the season review said.
