Sep.2 (GMM) Sakon Yamamoto is set to keep his race seat at HRT for the rest of the 2010 season.

Reportedly with healthy personal sponsorship, the Japanese initially ousted the Spanish team’s regular Bruno Senna at Silverstone in July.

Senna returned to his cockpit for Hockenheim, reportedly with the assurance he will keep his seat for the remainder of 2010.

Yamamoto, 28, is now in the cockpit originally occupied by Indian rookie Karun Chandhok, who mere days ago was confident of returning to the F110 later this season.

“I will finish the season,” Yamamoto said in an interview with Dutch language formule1.nl.

“Whether I replace Bruno or Karun, I don’t know. But it is certain that I will do all of the races,” he added.

Yamamoto said the situation is not affecting his relationship with Senna and Chandhok.

“My relationship with them is fine. The team is deciding which of them will drive. But my position is in no doubt,” he insisted.
