Alex Zanardi says he hopes to test a formula one car in 2006.
The Italian, who last contested a grand prix in 1999, actually had a seat-fitting for Williams last year, but his planned run fell through with clashing dates.
Today, Zanardi races a hand-controlled BMW in world touring cars, and his F1 test would be his first try in a grand prix contender since losing both legs in a Champ Car crash in 2001.
