New rumours are doing the rounds about the possibility of a formula one race in Bulgaria.

It was reported last year that a Dutch consortium was interested in putting up the funds for a formula one circuit in the east European republic.

Now, the local Darik News revealed at the weekend that British investors are planning to build a circuit in the seaside region of Kavarna, albeit for the modest sum of just $19m.

The Sofia News Agency said mayor Tsonko Tsonev is planning to present the proposal to the Council later this month.
