Rossi ends F1 talk with two year MotoGP deal

Valentino Rossi has put on hold any plans to switch to formula one, by committing to the MotoGP series until the end of 2008.

The 27-year-old Italian motorcycle star, who has tested for Ferrari and was linked with a full time switch to four wheels, will keep riding for Yamaha both this year and next.

“This leaves Valentino free to concentrate solely on the job in hand — winning back the world championship,” said Yamaha’s Lin Jarvis.

Rossi commented: “I’m very happy I renewed the contract with Yamaha until the end of 2008 so now I can just concentrate on racing this season.”
