Abu Dhabi requests F1 cars for February event

All eleven competing teams have been asked to send a formula one to Abu Dhabi early next month for an event, it has emerged.

Following reports that the Middle Eastern emirate is preparing to launch a bid for a grand prix in 2009, the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport said the first step is a ‘formula one show’ involving the F1 teams’ cars on 3 February.
