It was rainy welcome in Belgium for Formula 1 drivers, but in second half on Free Practice 1 they were able to run on slick tyres. In that conditions the fastest time was set by Fernando Alonso.
At the beginning of the session track was damp and most of the drivers decided to stay in their garages. Other used intermediate tyres as Lotus and Sauber. First team which decided to run on dry tyres was Red Bull. Thanks to that they were able to test their new front wing.
Teams were using dry window on the track and we had some traffic then. In some places it was still wet but drivers always managed to avoid damages in their cars. Only Lotus didn`t decide to run more and unfortunately for them it started to rain again in the end of session.
Fastest in that conditions was Fernando Alonso, who set 1:55.198 s. Slightly slower were Force India duo – Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil. Sebastian Vettel was sixth and Lewis Hamilton 15th.
