Axed Willis eyes return to F1

Geoff Willis says he wants to return to formula one.

The 48-year-old Briton and former technical director decided to leave Honda last year after being demoted.

It has been suggested that he is already in contact with former colleague David Richards about taking a leading role at Prodrive in 2008, but Willis told the British magazine Autosport that it is “too early” to make any approaches to teams.

He added: “But I am keen to work with a team that has got the proper resources to get the job done.”

Before switching to Honda (then BAR) in 2001, Willis was a chief aerodynamicist at Williams. He started his F1 career in the early 90s alongside Adrian Newey at Leyton House.
