This is the voice of our readers speaking. In our last poll we asked you to vote on whether either Super Aguri or Scuderia Toro Rosso should be banned from using their bought-in cars, despite the practice being in contravention of the current rules laid down by the FIA.
A full 51% voted that neither should be banned, while some 37% voted that they should both be banned. Very few readers cast team-specific votes, with 8.2% feeling that the Aguri should be banned, and just over 4% that the STR should be banned.
Spyker has since lodged a formal complaint against Super Aguri only, not STR. The stewards refused to rule on the matter and it will be settled in court in Switzerland.
On to more pleasant matters: The season-opener saw some spectacular performances from numerous drivers – Raikkonen trounced the field, Hamilton drove a blinder of a debut, Alonso bided his time to repass Hamilton in a very mature fashion, Heidfeld took his fragile BMW to fourth, Massa drove to sixth from the back of the grid and Rosberg gave his more experienced team mate some comprehensive driving lessons.
