Nicolas Todt, the son of Ferrari’s team principal, accompanied Champ Car’s three time title winner Sebastien Bourdais at his Toro Rosso test on Wednesday at Jerez.
Todt also manages Felipe Massa.
Another notable face at the warm southern Spanish circuit on Wednesday was 19-year-old Marco Andretti, who will test for Honda on Friday.
“To win the world championship in formula one is the thing I desire the most,” Andretti, whose grandfather and father both raced in the category, was quoted as saying by Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“In a perfect world, with the last two years of my contract with Dad, I would like to win the Indy 500 and then come to Europe,” the Indycar rookie added.
Williams’ new test driver Kazuki Nakajima, meanwhile, qualified for his FIA Super Licence on Wednesday, while French veteran Olivier Panis arrived in the Toyota garage ahead of his last ever F1 test appearance on Thursday.
Panis, 40, made his F1 debut in 1994 and raced 158 times.
