Hot on the heels of the unveiling of Honda’s so called ‘Earth Car’, F1’s governing body announced that the introduction of environmentally friendly technical measures have been delayed.

In Tuesday’s Paris meeting of the World Motor Sport Council, it was agreed that technology to reuse F1 cars’ waste heat would not now be mandated until 2011.

The rules were scheduled to appear in 2010, but will now accompany the likely introduction of a new era for smaller turbo-charged engines.
