Michael Schumacher hinted at Istanbul on Friday that he could further delay his decision about whether or not to hang up his helmet at the end of the 2006 F1 season.

Ferrari’s veteran champion was due to made a public announcement at the next race in Italy (Monza), but he told reporters here that he still has not made a decision.

”Who knows, perhaps it (the decision) will take even longer,” the German, 37, said.

Reporters in Turkey noticed on Friday that BMW-Sauber racer Nick Heidfeld has a cold. ”It’s not anything dramatic,” he insisted.

It has emerged that BMW-Sauber’s new ‘Friday’ tester Sebastian Vettel is only guaranteed the drive in Turkey. The German squad will assess his performance after his debut here at Istanbul.

David Coulthard has criticised Red Bull for rushing the formula one career of departing teammate Christian Klien. Austrian Klien, 23, will be replaced by Mark Webber in 2007.

”My opinion is that he’s been rushed through too quickly and therefore he hasn’t had the chance to show his talent,” the Scot told a news conference.
