Spanish football club Real Madrid has vowed to put a logo on a formula one car at next year’s Spanish grand prix.

Club president Ramon Calderon was quoted in the Spanish media on Monday as saying the unidentified team’s cars will be painted white for the Barcelona race.

He said: “The agreement is with a team with a good chance of winning and will be for one or two grands prix, but at Montmelo (Circuit de Catalunya) for sure.”

Spain’s newly crowned double world champion Fernando Alonso, a confessed Real Madrid fan, is moving to McLaren for 2007, whose cars could be painted predominantly white next year for the ‘Vodafone’ title backing.
