Toyotas not extremely light in Bahrain

Apr.25 (GMM) The Toyotas are not much lighter on fuel than their direct rivals for victory in Sunday’s Bahrain grand prix

When the FIA published the weights of the cars after qualifying at the Sakhir circuit, it emerged that pole sitter Jarno Trulli was among the lightest cars

But his teammate and fellow front row sitter Timo Glock was even lighter, and both TF109s were only a handful of kilograms away from the starting weights of the previously dominant Brawns

Sebastian Vettel’s third placed Red Bull, meanwhile, is carrying just 10 kilograms more fuel than Trulli, meaning that it is not clear if the difference is enough to differentiate a two or three stop strategy

“We already saw yesterday that our pace over one lap and our consistency over long runs has been good,” said Toyota’s chassis boss Pascal Vasselon
